LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Los Angeles Lakers returned home for a 93-81 victory over the visiting Houston Rockets on Friday, their 60th win of the season helping them sweep the season series for the first since 2001-02.
Pau Gasol had 23 points and 10 rebounds while Kobe Bryant added 20 and seven assists to pull the Lakers (60-16) within one game of the Cleveland Cavaliers for the NBA's top record.
Ron Artest scored a team-high 21 points while Yao Ming recorded 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Rockets (48-28), who lost their second straight game and the third in their last four contests.
Houston fell to fifth place in the bunched up West with six games remaining.
